Fabien Pletscher – Traditional Japanese tattoo expert in Switzerland and Europe

For over 15 years, Fabien Pletscher has established himself as a leading authority on the art of traditional Japanese tattooing (irezumi) in Switzerland and beyond. Co-founder and managing partner of the Think Tattoo studio, he is renowned for his authentic, respectful approach to Japanese tattoo codes, as well as for his powerful compositions and vibrant colors.

A career marked by a passion for irezumi

Fabien’s fascination with this ancestral art began when he discovered irezumi through photographs of Japanese yakuza. After his first personal tattoos, he decided to turn professional. He got his start in several Bangkok salons, before returning to Switzerland to train with Think Tattoo.

He was trained in the traditional way by Raphaël Gremion, in pure “old-fashioned” transmission, before taking over the studio in 2015 alongside Simon.

Internationally recognized expertise

Specializing in Japanese (irezumi) and Oriental tattoos, Fabien masters the art of composition on large pieces such as sleeves, full backs, bodysuits and chest pieces.

His style is characterized by :

• Traditional Japanese motifs (dragons, koi carp, samurai, geishas, hannya masks, tigers, cherry blossoms, waves, etc.).
• Expert use of intense, long-lasting colors
